Psalm 150:1-6 (ESV)
1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

Introduction:
Thanksgiving Day has a long-standing tradition among our national holidays. One year after the Plymouth colonists had set foot on and settled in the new land, a celebration of thanksgiving was held to thank God for His sustaining presence and provision during those first difficult months.

1 Chronicles 16:8 (ESV)
8 Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!

Psalm 100:4 (ESV)
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Hebrews 12:28-29 (ESV)
28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,
29 for our God is a consuming fire.

In Psalm150, the writer is filled to overflowing with thanksgiving, offering praise to God with every breath and word of the song.
1.The focus of our thanks (v. 1)
If we are to live in ways that honor the image of Himself that God placed within us.
2.The motivation of our thanks (v. 2)
The character of God became the motivation for continued praise and thanksgiving.
3.The method of our thanks (vv. 3–6)
With joy and celebration—
With intentionality—

Conclusion:
May thanksgiving be on our lips and in our lives today, tomorrow, and all year long!
