Jesus is the Way!

John 1:1 (ESV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 So Abraham called the name of the place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
Adam sinned and became separated from God. He was thrown out of the garden of Eden. He was banished from God’s presence.
1.Was started before the world began (John 1:1)
What this means is that we can now understand how it is that “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.” And Jesus frequently reminded His disciples that He was, in fact, God. The cross was not an afterthought.
2.Was illustrated in the sacrifice of Isaac (Gen. 22:13–14)
When Abraham was told to go, and sacrifice his only son . . . just look at this picture. Moments before Abraham would have killed his only son, God intervened and provided the perfect sacrifice of the ram. There He is. Jesus Christ. God’s perfect sacrifice for you and for me on the cross.
3.Was spoken of by the prophets (Isa. 55:6–7)
Back in the Old Testament, the Israelite’s had God in a “box.” They had to go to the temple and approach God through the high priest. Isaiah let them know that God was not only able to be found, but also, He could be called upon.
4.Was witnessed in the manger (Luke 2:17)
Even the angels could not but help praise God by saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke2:14). This is Jesus. Born so that He might die for the sins of the world.
5.Was blessed by the Father (Mark 1:11)
Many may have wondered why the Lord Jesus took part Himself in baptism. There are many reasons. Perhaps the fact that everything He did was designed to show believers what they must do. But one very important thing happened here. God spoke from heaven and affirmed His Beloved Son.
God’s blessings only come through His Son. Therefore, Jesus came to this earth to die on that cross. He is the only way because He is truth. And through Him alone, we have life. Trust Him today!
