Sharing our faith
Brother Jarrell Correll
Are we missing some of God’s greatest blessings because we are not sharing our faith!
John 14:21 (NIV) Jesus says,
21 “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
Luke 6:46 (NIV) Jesus asks,
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”
None of us wants our Lord to say that to us!
One of the ways we can demonstrate our love for, and the lordship of, Jesus Christ in our life is by obeying the commission He gave each of us in Acts.
Acts 1:8 (NIV)
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
In Paul’s letter to Philemon, we really see the blessings God wants to give us.
In Philemon 1:6 (NIV) Paul says,
6 “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”
Why aren’t we sharing our faith?
Are we afraid, feel we are not qualified, think it’s the Ministers job, we are apathetic, lack an eternal perspective or our faith isn’t strong enough?
We are called to be God’s ambassadors.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (NIV) says:
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Read the Gospel:
Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word, that comes from the mouth of God.'”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Carry the Gospel:
If you don’t carry it then you can’t share it.
Share the Gospel:
Romans 1:16 (NIV)
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
So, let us share, plant the seeds of the Word & pray for growth.
